Where We Travel
Our base is in Mundelein, and we run calls out from there. That puts Libertyville about 2 miles off, with Hawthorn Woods, Mettawa, Grayslake, and Long Grove all inside a 5-mile stretch. A little further out we cover Green Oaks, Hainesville, Gages Lake, Round Lake Park, Wauconda, and Kildeer, each around 6 miles from our shop. Lincolnshire, Round Lake, and North Barrington sit near the 7-mile mark, and Deer Park, Lake Bluff, North Chicago, and Park City run closer to 8.
Farther out - Grandwood Park, Volo, Round Lake Beach, Riverwoods, Lake Barrington, Bannockburn, and Long Lake at roughly 9 miles, then Port Barrington, Venetian Village, Island Lake, and Lindenhurst near 10, with Lakemoor at the edge around 11 - we still take the call, but drive time is drive time. If you're closer to the middle of that list, expect us sooner. If you're out past 10 miles, it's still worth a call, just say where you are when you book.
Who Does the Work
Whoever comes to your driveway has worked on the kind of doors this area actually has: torsion and extension spring setups from the 1980s and 90s, older side-mount hardware from houses built closer to the 1938 end of the range, and newer belt-drive openers from recent builds. Cold, severe winters here are hard on springs and on the metal fatigue that builds up in a garage door's moving parts, so a fair share of our calls are winter break-and-repair jobs rather than routine tune-ups.
We carry common spring sizes and roller hardware on the truck, but not every part for every door - some replacement panels and older opener boards have to be ordered, and we'll tell you that up front instead of promising a same-visit fix we can't deliver. If a repair is going to cost more than a straightforward replacement given the door's age, we'll say that too. You can reach us at (224) 353-7704, or find us at 440 E Hawley St in Mundelein.
